July 2026, Centrespace Gallery presented Haunting of the House: Painting the Ghosts of Memory, the debut solo exhibition by Southwest-based contemporary figurative painter Liam Hart. The exhibition explores the non-linear experience of navigating childhood trauma, psychological survival, and recovery. By blurring the line between a public gallery and a private house, the space maps the gap between what is presented to the world and what is concealed within domestic walls.
Hart’s practice functions through the creation of an entirely fictional ancestral mythos: the Blighton family. Through this invented family tree, the artist constructs a psychological space to interrogate how unresolved memories and domestic ghosts linger into adulthood.
