Liam Hart (b. 1991) is a Gloucester-based painter and visual sociologist. Holding an MA in Visual Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art: Painting and Drawing from the University of Gloucestershire, Hart integrates sociological inquiry with surreal realism to explore internal psychology, trauma, domestic architecture, and mental health recovery.
Central to Hart’s practice is the examination of the home as our primary psychological and social environment—the internal architecture where identity, boundaries, and behavioral masks are formed and concealed. Drawing from personal experience, counselling, and sociological research, his multi-layered oil and mixed-media compositions employ symbolic motifs—including anatomical heart vases, child-perspective garden scenes, and overgrown picket fences.
