“Street vendors are not a crisis, yet we treat them like one. They keep cities alive, festive and contribute significantly to local economies worldwide. In fact, this is a global urban justice issue, a global urban condition that is manifested in major cities worldwide yet ignored”.

I am perplexed and fascinated by the enterprising role that street vending plays in third world countries driven by poverty and inequality.
Globally, street vendors represent the lowest form of small business ownership and first-time employment for millions worldwide, fueled by tourism. Despite extensive research, the lived realities of street vendors remain largely invisible to the public and policymakers.
