Heat Wave is a visual response to the intense heat of this summer. Rather than depicting heat as a landscape or a weather phenomenon, I wanted to capture how it feels to exist inside it.
The heat blurs the boundaries between the body and its surroundings. Faces dissolve into colour, forms become fragmented, and familiar features seem to shift under the weight of the atmosphere. Through loose brushwork and warm, translucent colours, I explore the sensations of exhaustion, stillness, distortion, and quiet discomfort that come with extreme heat.
These works are fragments of a summer experienced through the body — moments when the air feels heavy, time seems to slow down, and the outside world becomes almost dreamlike.
