The Jousting

Jousting is a form of medieval martial contest in which two mounted knights charge at each other with lances, attempting to strike or unseat the opponent. The term comes from Old French joster, meaning to approach, encounter, or engage in combat, and is ultimately connected to the Latin iuxtā, meaning “near” or “close.”

The tournament takes place on open water, where armored knights ride jet skis and use inflatable pool noodles as lances. Since swimming in full plate armor is rarely effective, inflatable armbands are considered essential equipment.

Though not officially recognized by any known medieval order, jousting preserves its essential spirit: two armored figures charging directly toward a very bad idea.
