Submission Painting

Hermetic Abstraction — Kati Kuchinskaya

My practice, Hermetic Abstraction, brings together painting, relief and poetry to create autonomous visual worlds. I form the frame directly on the canvas using textural materials, making it an integral part of the composition. Working with acrylic, texture paste and mixed media, I explore boundaries, belonging and the spaces we create for our imagination. In What the Earth Holds, sand collected by hand on the coast of Ureki, Georgia, brings a physical trace of place into the painted surface. Poetry offers one possible key, leaving viewers free to discover their own meanings. Across these works, textures and boundaries echo one another; some connections remain waiting to be discovered. I am Kati Kuchinskaya, based in Georgia and devoted fully to painting since 2025.
