If Angels Stopped Crying There Would Be No Rain For Us To Survive explores the unlearning of rigid gender norms and the search for identity beyond predetermined social roles. Through metal engravings, drawings veiled in translucent fabric, and poetry, Nina Böttcherová reflects on the tension between corporeality and transcendence, visibility and invisibility, vulnerability and resistance. Drawing on experiences of gender transformation and religious upbringing, the exhibition reimagines the angel as a being free from hierarchy, while questioning the idealisation of this image. Delicate, dreamlike forms meet the permanence of engraved metal, creating space for fragility, protection, and confrontation. A childlike perspective becomes a source of tenderness and hope for a world that can change.
