If Memory Serves Me

I work with photography and video to explore the intersections of body, time, and the natural world. My projects investigate how the gaze, memory, and natural rhythms shape our understanding of ourselves and the world. Through self-portraiture, revisited negatives, and collaborations with nature, I create images that prioritize presence and transformation over control.

For my series, If Memory Serves Me, I weave 35mm negatives from my personal archive with strips of fire imagery, creating layered compositions that are then re-photographed. Every image is made entirely in-camera. The flames evoke the burning away of past selves and memories, exploring letting go as an act of transformation and renewal. These works engage with memory, impermanence, and the passage of time, finding strength and possibility in what is released.
