Themba Child (b. 1978 in Toronto, Canada) is a Taipei-based visual artist whose practice spans contemporary painting and Chinese painting traditions, bridging street culture, pop iconography, and classical technique. Emerging from early exhibitions in artist-run spaces, his work draws from nostalgia, gaming aesthetics, and hip-hop references while maintaining a refined graphic sensibility. Working across both contemporary media and Chinese painting materials, he explores youth identity, cultural memory, and the tension between playfulness and social commentary. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Taipei and internationally.
