In Case You Notice

In Case You Notice explores the desire to be understood without having to speak. For years, I used handwritten journals to express thoughts and emotions I struggled to communicate aloud. Yet writing alone felt insufficient, as I quietly wished someone would notice what I could not say. Through cyanotype, I transferred these private writings onto fabric, intentionally distorting the text. I then cut, unravelled, wove, and stitched the textiles, deconstructing and reconstructing the original writings. Finally, I attached the fragmented fabrics to a sculptural cast of my own face, its mouth firmly closed. The figure reflects how thoughts and emotions I believed I could release through this process continue to linger. Through this work, I explore the persistence of what remains even after we attempt to let go.
