Indicators is a photography series examining two of Canada’s most significant glacial landscapes—the Athabasca Glacier and the Victoria Glacier at Lake Louise—during a moment of visible transformation. Photographed in spring 2023, the work explores the tension between their beauty and the evidence of rapid environmental change.
Focusing on contrast, these images present sculpted ice, exposed rock, and meltwater as both monumental and fragile. Rather than dramatic collapse, they capture what remains—altered surfaces and newly revealed terrain. These landscapes act as quiet records of a warming climate.
Presented at large scale, Indicators invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and consider the transience of places long assumed permanent.
