I made this portrait of my friend Morgan one late night in our dorms. The room was dimly lit, crowded, and smokey. At the time we didn't know each other very well, but we soon began making photographs together all the time. Out of the hundreds of photographs we have now, it is still one of my favorites. It reminds me of simpler times making new friends.
