Klein Blue is a personal series of four still life photographs. It began with my favourite colour and my admiration for Yves Klein.
I filled a small plexiglass box with blue pigment powder and compressed it with a flat plate to create a smooth, level surface. I then pressed fragrance bottles and cosmetics into the pigment and lifted them away.
The recessed impressions became the subjects of the photographs. Light and shadow reveal the shapes and surface details of objects that are no longer there.
