Laura Taylor’s exhibition, Another Way of Looking at Love, unfolds as an intimate and poetic dialogue with memory, an evocative exploration of the houses and mountains from periods of a childhood spent with her much loved grandparents in Brazil. Born in 1960, Taylor’s formative years were shaped by the landscapes and vibrant colors of São Paulo and São Sebastião in the Atlantic Rainforest. She recalls her grandparents’ beach home, situated dramatically at the foot of jungle-clad mountains along a steep coastline, facing the archipelago of Ilhabela. Taylor's nuanced appreciation for color is influenced by the lush environment of Brazil and the joyful hues of its painted houses.
