Liquid Character

These figures do not arrive with intention; they form the way a thought settles before language takes hold. Drawn in graphite and faint pigment, they begin to thin out at the edges, as if the paper were only a temporary stop on their way somewhere else.

What remains is an outline, an absence, and a quiet heat glowing beneath the dark. They trace back to a film I once made about noble gases—elements defined by their refusal to bind, present yet untouched. Ever since, these figures have been drifting out of that atmosphere, waiting on the page in a state between appearing and vanishing.
