I’m an illustrator based in Essen, Germany. I studied at Folkwang University of the Arts, taught there for nine years and have worked in applied illustration and storyboarding for more than fifteen years.

Liquid Characters is my ongoing series of figures drawn in graphite and colored pencil on paper. It goes back to my graduation film about noble gases, elements that keep their presence without reacting to anything around them. The figures try to do the same. They float complete on the white of the paper, with two small dots for eyes and dark passages where the graphite builds up, and some of them seem to flow out of their own clothes.

Open for book covers, editorial illustration and album art.
