The risograph print Little Sun is part of a triptych featuring three minstrels: Little Lion, Little Sun, and Little Cat.
Through this triptych, I explore tenderness and wonder. This project serves as a direct response to the rigidity of our performance-driven society: an invitation to lay down one’s arms and reconnect with one’s inner child.
To embody this sensitive framework, I chose to juxtapose medieval imagery with the organic vibration of the risograph printing process. My hybrid animals clad in armor reimagined with childlike motifs trade cold metal for softness, utilizing playful textures and patterns that pulse with the vibrant, luminous inks characteristic of risography - Little Sun does more than just decorate a child’s room; it shines as a reminder to adults that sensitivity is a vital refuge at any age.
