Lost At Sea

I built this piece around the fast, chaotic rhythm of hopping around New York City during an evening out. Fare charts, driver slang, and pieces of street language appear and dissolve beneath bold yellows, reds, dark purples, and black. Lines cross and loop like routes on a city map. The inspiration came from watching NYC taxi drivers describe the financial burdens they have faced and continue to in a changing market.

Acrylic, pastel, charcoal, receipt paper, sticky notes, and notepad paper on canvas
