Manuel Pablo Pace is an Italian visual artist whose paintings explore the unstable relationship between images, memory and perception.
Working primarily from photographs, Pace transforms familiar scenes, domestic spaces and human gestures through unexpected colour relationships, shifts in light and disruptions of pictorial continuity.
His recent paintings move between highly detailed representation and increasingly fragmented surfaces, allowing the image to remain suspended between recognition and uncertainty.
Rather than reconstructing events, his work investigates how images change when they are remembered, altered or partially erased.
