My name is Diego Vilela, aka SUPERDAY and I paint mixed media portraits that investigate the deconstruction of toxic masculinity and societal expectations as a way for me to live in a more authentic way. I think many of us have felt the pressure to act or move through life a certain way based on others’ expectations, so I want my art to help heal and encourage you to accept yourself fully. I often feature subjects that appear to have external wounds, mirroring their internal pain, but all of these people are badasses who are still standing, and so are you.
