Metakomisi

Athens-based amateur photographer whose relationship with photography began at fourteen, following the killing of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in 2008. What started as an urge to document everything around her became a way of navigating a world that suddenly felt fragile and uncertain.
Working intuitively, she approaches photography as a personal archive: a way to preserve fleeting moments, places and versions of herself that time inevitably changes. Drawn to analogue processes and the persistence of older technologies, she embraces the patience and imperfection of film in a culture of instant images.
Her series Metakomisi, photographed at seventeen with a Pentax MG and 35mm film, revisits a formative period through the eyes of her younger self. @jem_knows_best
