The Form That Remained

THE PROJECT ENDS. THE MATERIAL REMAINS.
The Form That Remained transforms discarded prototypes and fragments from scientific research into unique sculptures. As a Portuguese designer and researcher, I explore what happens when matter loses its original function but retains traces of its past.

Through cutting, fragmentation, layering and fusion, I combine geometries, colours and textures never meant to coexist. I call this process STRATA. Each sculpture draws on the remains of a specific research project, preserving its origin while finding an independent identity.

Beyond recycling, my work questions how we assign value to objects and whether a form's possibilities end with its intended purpose. Each piece becomes a material archive of experimentation, decisions and unexpected encounters.
Research moves forward. Matter remain
