Eugenia Mari is an Athens-based amateur photographer whose relationship with photography began at fourteen, following the killing of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in 2008.
Working intuitively, she approaches photography as a personal archive: a way to preserve fleeting moments, places and versions of herself that time inevitably changes. Drawn to analogue processes and the persistence of older technologies, she embraces the patience and imperfection of film in a culture of instant images.
Her series Metakomisi, photographed at seventeen with a Pentax MG and 35mm film, revisits a formative period through the eyes of her younger self. At the intersection of memory, adolescence and change. 25-31/10/26 Athens Open Art Exhibition at Cacoyiannis Foundation Athens, Greece
