This piece was inspired by the sleeve of the legendary UK punk band The Damned.
Despite their name meaning “forever damned,” their sound is strikingly pop, and the contrast between vocalist Dave Vanian and the other members fascinated me.
I asked myself: What lies behind the eeriness?
The idea struck me—innocence. Children.
Once kids wear paper bags over their heads, their innocence turns uncanny. I imagined them conducting a “cursed ritual,” adding teddy bears for an unsettling twist.
I wonder—what kind of screams did these cursed baby punks let out on tour?
