The project uses extremely high contrast to take photos of cities at night. The contrast is pushed so high that all the soft middle tones disappear. What is left is only pure black and pure white. The whole city turns into a collection of white blocks standing against a deep black background. This simple, blocky look makes the cities feel unreal, almost like a dream.
It feels strange, as if it belongs to another world. The most surprising thing is how much the cities start to look the same. The landmarks still exist, but they all melt into some patterns of white blocks crowded together in the dark. What is left behind is the same inner truth: crowded, fancy, and busy. The sharp, bright light reflects the fancy surface of modern life. But inside the white boxes, it is the fast-paced and unstoppable life of every ordinary person.
