The picts were an ancient people native to Scotland in the middle ages and in many way the reason Scots still exist. The mystery surrounding them is intoxicating, the only recorded written history of their existence comes from Roman and Viking encounters. Pictish stone carvings are the lasting evidence of their existence by their own hand, scattered allover Monoliths across the east coast of Scotland, the markings similar to Ogham but near impossible to fully understand. They managed to master carving granite, a very tough stone to work with, but not easily weathered thus it holds their carvings to this day. They worshiped many dieties as Pagans, adopting varying gods however eventually were converted by the sweeping wave of Christian influence. It is just one example of many indigenous cultures being written out of history.
