Order/Chaos

My overall practise looks at the relationship between art, technology, and magic and involves sound, video, sculpture, and 2d works. In my broader (meta?) ongoing Order/Chaos paintings I am looking for the visual balance between the two extremes. I use geometrical shapes as core elements and place them over chaotic backgrounds. The circle is a symbol for totality, the infinite. The triangle is mundane, manmade. It can be male or female; has a branch of mathematics, and is fundamental to architecture and mechanics. To me the triangle represents the technological human and the desire to control. The triangles in my pieces (whether large scale or small) are all drawn by hand. They give a suggestion of order, but being drawn by hand they are irregular and full of errors.
