My name is Tamás Todor. I am a painter from Cluj, currently living and working in Budapest. I graduated from the renowned Cluj School of Fine Arts, where I also earned my PhD. Through my paintings, I seek to confront the existential anxiety inherent in being, the inevitable passage of time, and the perpetual cycle of decay and rebirth. I am equally drawn to the consequences of human presence and our complex, often destructive relationship with the natural world.
For me, painting is a way of confronting what lies beneath the surface of our perceived reality. I am interested in the fragile boundary between the familiar and the uncanny, between life and death, destruction and renewal.
