‘Peace river, Dunvegan, Alberta, Canada’ – aerial embroidery landscape

I am an autistic aerial-embroidery artist from Devon, UK. In living in a place of outstanding natural beauty, I am surrounded by inspiration for my textile landscapes, but in recent years I've been exploring much further afield and recreated places in Canada, the US, Europe and Australia! I am particularly inspired by the shapes and colours that both naturally form and are made to form by man and how these contrast and interact. A key goal of my art is to bring others that sense of comfort and nostalgia that creating my home landscapes brings me. How many people have fond memories of visiting the countryside as a child? In these idealized scenes I try to express this, bringing back rose-tinted memories of simpler days past.
