I’m Maciek Wolanski, an illustrator and art director from Warsaw, Poland. I draw weird landscapes, strange creatures and things that probably make more sense in a dream than they do on paper. I’m into old sci-fi, European comics, ancient ruins, mushroom-like creatures and the general suspicion that the world is much stranger than we give it credit for. My work is a mix of wandering lines, overgrown shapes and an unhealthy urge to add just one more detail. I like drawing places I’d love to get lost in, even if I’m not entirely sure what lives there. Mostly, I’m just trying to make images that give someone the feeling of stumbling across something they weren’t supposed to find.
