I am a self-taught artist who is currently working towards a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree. Making the leap from a 25 year career in supporting families who have children and young people with special educational needs to immersing myself in my art full time is my life’s dream.
My work is experimental, uninhibited and eclectic. I have a particular interest in spontaneous portraiture, capturing human beings in their rawest states, incidentally and candidly. I paint and draw using a wider range of media and styles, and love the playfulness of the free reign I give my desire to record what moves me. I gravitate towards not only the everyday living portrait but also the beauty and symbolism of birds – particularly the Raven and the Wren, but also the solidity of architecture which I particularly enjoy documenting the decay of.
