My paintings are a way for me to explore my curiosity about self-expression, authentic or not. How free are we to be who we truly are in a society so heavily conditioned? Why do some faces get more play within ourselves than others? I use portraiture to explore the hidden faces beyond the one being presented to me. The end result is a reconciliation of sorts, of all the faces I’m intuitively experiencing from my subjects.
