Profiteor

Kinetic Installation

(Fiberglass sheeting, epoxamite, 24V DC motors) 2017.

“Profiteor” examines the universal desire for interpersonal connection. The work consists of two independent, free moving spheres. Both spheres encompass the ability to announce their presence through the amplified sounds of their collisions with other existing things. Viewers are encouraged to recognize the spheres as abstract representations of all living things, where each being aims for some form of recognition, and does so by asserting its own existence and personal standing. Solidarity, in this case, becomes something unbearable as the two spheres transform into animated, attention seeking creatures.
