Reassemblage

This is an ongoing series which originates from a fleeting but persistent notion to refrain from making 35mm prints and use existing prints to create new images. When shooting film I have a tendency to take a number of photos of the same subject to investigate the functionality of various compositions. This inevitably leads to an abundance of unresolved material. I notice that it is much easier for me to actually see what I have made after an unspecified amount of time has past. Often an image originally thought to be problematic ends up becoming totally compelling after it has been buried and lost seemingly forever. The intention is to use every print that I feel is unsuccessful as a solitary image at that moment until they have all been re-contextualized in an unexpected way.
