Forging meaningful connections shapes who we are biologically, and psychologically. Touch is a fundamental aspect of that connection, playing an important role in our emotional and physical well-being, triggering physiological responses that can promote feelings of connection. Whilst touch can be experienced anywhere on our bodies, we mostly associate it with our hands.
For this project I focused on myself, my partner and our parents. When we experience touch we may come to take it for granted. The death of a loved one forces us to release the physical experience of touch which now subsumed to a memory
The six photographs show my hands alongside those of my partner and her mother. The connection with our parents who have died are visually represented by a soft grassland scene with their names typed on
