Amanda Kuniyoshi (b. 1995) is a contemporary artist and poet from Lima, Peru, working between figuration and abstraction. Her practice explores identity, multiplicity, transformation, and the unconscious through an intuitive process in which figures, symbols, and structures emerge, overlap, fragment, and transform.

Influenced by Carl Jung’s ideas of the unconscious, shadow, archetypes, and individuation, and by Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophy of becoming and transformation, Kuniyoshi approaches painting not as a representation of reality, but as its decomposition. Her layered compositions move between the recognisable and the abstract, questioning the stability of the self and asking: what happens when identity can no longer sustain itself as a coherent narrative?

Motherhood further deepened her exploration of transformation.
