Ryan Riggs is a visual artist from Ohio, who currently resides in Ferrum, Virginia (foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains). He uses drafting pencils or oil paint to create highly detailed and vibrant artwork of the natural world. This effect is achieved by using techniques he developed throughout his practice studying the old masters and his favorite contemporary artists. Riggs’s labor-intensive process stems from his experience as a carpenter and NCAA division 1 collegiate wrestler.
