Submission Drawing

Sahar Hasan Al-louthai

Through my art works, I try to open a window into the inner worlds of human, specifically the female’s anxieties and the struggles she goes through.

I usually use oil paints with some additions of acrylic, gold lead, ancient fabrics and stained glasses as a reference to “ Qamaria, the windows of the moon”. I use elements that highlight the aesthetic aspects of a rich civilization and I find myself immersed in facial expressions, ancient structures and traditional outfits.

I also add an interaction of calligraphy, combining my love for both drawing and handwriting.
This combination of colors, patterns and letters ties it all together presenting the story behind the painting as well as keeping a sense of vagueness to be interpreted by the viewer’s imagination.
