Over decades living in Rio de Janeiro and spending time on countless beaches, I came to notice a curious local habit: seeking out an empty spot on the sand to disconnect from everything and everyone, alone in front of the sea.

“Seaside Solitude” is a series I photographed on 35mm Ferrania 80 and Kodak Tri-X 400 (+2 stops) in Rio de Janeiro during September 2025.
