I'm not sure what it says about my personal creative journey to have just reached a point of obsession with re-examining and re-imagining past works, but 2026 has been full of the hunger to attack old projects in new ways. This is a rework of an old magpie-themed piece made around 2016 (one of the first I considered successful after a long, long struggle with creative identity and trying to get brain to connect to stylus), less visually shallow and more influenced by grief and the moment of discovery of something secret and beautiful.
