Sixth Ocean, Eighth Sea, the debut solo exhibition by New York-based Korean-Canadian artist Jeannie Rhyu (IG: @jeannierhyu) brings together a new body of paintings and ceramic sculptures that explore migration, memory, and the physical and psychological landscape of the ocean. Rhyu proposes a space of discovery where histories, identities, and myths continue to unfold. Across luminous oil paintings and hand-built ceramic sculptures, these works form a mythopoetic world where personal recollection, collective history, and intergenerational knowledge drift through shifting currents. Rather than reconstructing the past, her art imagines new mythologies that honor fluid identity and the enduring connections between people, place, and the natural world. On view at Feia Gallery in Highland Park, Los Angeles September 19-October 18.
