By mixing styles, varying the size of his canvas and by moving the horizon
excitingly aside the works of Antonio become a vivid surreal representation of his
personal train of thought. Through painting he finds a way to ventilate unfulfilled
dreams and political concerns. He never plans his images. Alternating between
casual brushstrokes and fine figurations, he touches the canvas with a
remarkable freedom wherein the background, the abstract structure of a
landscape often survives. His paintings emerge from his lust for life and therefore
his lust for painting ever since he could hold a brush.
