I am submitting Magdalena (2025), an oil on linen painting commissioned for and acquired by FAMM — Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins, founded by Christian Levett, in Mougins, France. This acquisition represents my second institutional placement. The work engages figurative painting as a site where belief systems, historical narratives, and contemporary modes of seeing converge. Centered on the figure of Magdalena, the painting considers identity as layered and relational, and reflects on the responsibility of image-making within a culture shaped by saturation, visibility, and circulation.
