HUMANS CREATED MONSTERS is an ongoing body of work by Indonesian artist Gindringwasted, based in Magelang, Indonesia.
Working from a background in street art, he creates a world monsters inhabit familiar human situations.
These creatures are not simply symbols of horror, but reflection of human behaviour, fear, violence, hypocrisy, social pressure and contradiction.
By placing monsters within everyday life, the work questions the boundary between human and monster: who is the real monster, and are monsters born or created by humans ? This ongoing universe explores how people create, judge, fear and sometimes become the very monster they reject.
