The Art of Stillness and the Shape of Choice

I love to tell stories of nostalgia (especially longing for what never was), the search for connection (and the frequent difficulty in achieving it), and the search for oneself (along with the wonder at how you ended up where you did). As I’ve got older, I’ve started reflecting more on these themes. Nostalgia and longing for the years in which I grew up – watching the world and myself change, taking part in it, and often merely observing. The connections with friends, partners, children, fellow travelers on my path – people I met, wanted to meet, didn’t want to meet, or would have liked to meet. The amazement at how life finds its own way, often without me truly realizing it.
