Submission Drawing

The cities

As an architectural and interior designer, I travel not only as a visitor but also as a flâneur. This series began during the pandemic, when I revisited photographs and sketches made during my journeys, searching for the sense of movement felt while walking through each city. Rome emerged first, followed by New York, Beijing, Kyoto, and others. These drawings are not literal representations of buildings; they combine architecture with memories, emotions, and stories experienced on site. Although created using digital media, the works are hand-drawn in ink, following a traditional process similar to drawing on paper. Originally titled 12 Cities, the series expanded after requests to depict cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Chongqing, and was renamed The Cities. All works are A3 size (297 × 420 mm).
