The Invisible Octopus

The Invisible Octopus is a series of 24 illustrations about octopuses hiding in everyday objects and familiar forms. I try to keep both images recognizable at the same time, so a chandelier can still be a chandelier while also becoming an octopus. Some connections come from shape, others from movement or texture. More recently, I continued the idea with Hide and Seek, a larger scene with 30 hidden octopuses, inviting viewers to spend more time looking and discovering. A selection from the series was chosen as one of the 75 winning illustration sets in the 2026 Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition and published in the Illustrators Annual.
