The moon

In the darkest times, even a flicker of moonlight is the reminder of sun being out there.
I wanted to talk about the sorrow growing into anger, within what remains unspoken. Drawing from the world of Persian miniature painting and traditional Persian motifs, and historical visual references next to contemporary imagery, I chose the snake ,serpent of the moon and the owner of the darkness of the night, barren tree as the reminder of life that has been and throne as symbol of memory, tension, and transformation. The seated figure holds a skull as both an offering and a burden, and the choice is the holder’s. The main topic is wounded relationships and the roots of resentment formed through silence.
