Inspired by the decayed walls in Venice, Yawen used gesso and acrylic wash to create her own abstract patterns of walls with a series of four paintings. They can be installed to hang from the ceiling, forming a square space with the painted sides facing inward.
Audiences are invited to enter the enclosed space from underneath the paintings.
