The Wonders are surrealist hand-painted photographs inspired by novelty postcards at the turn of the century. My other influences include Rene Magritte’s paintings, “Ripley’s Believe it or Not,” the romanticism of the National Parks, nature documentaries, and the conservation movement. They are unreal natural wonders of the world. They are absurdist and hyperbolic while being political emblems for environmentalism.
